National Youth Day 2026: Dibrugarh

Ramakrishna Mission, Dibrugarh, observed National Youth Day on 12 January 2026, with a vibrant commemorative program held at the Vivekananda Hall from 4:00 PM to 6:20 PM. Organized by the Ashrama’s Youth Forum, the event brought together students, educators, and distinguished citizens to honor the legacy of Swami Vivekananda.

The event was graced by eminent personalities from the medical and civic administrative fields:

  • Chief Guest: Prof. Sanjeeb Kakati (Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent, Assam Medical College).
  • Guests of Honour: * Dr. Jagadish Mahanta (Former Director & Distinguished Scientist Chair, ICMR-RMRC).
    • Dr. Prasanta Kr. Borah (Scientist F, ICMR-RMRC).
    • Dr. Saikat Patra (Hon’ble Mayor of Dibrugarh).

Vivekananda Scholarship 2025–26

A major highlight of the evening was the distribution of the Vivekananda Scholarship to meritorious students from 22 participating schools.

  • Recipients: 43 students from Classes 9 and 10.
  • Grant Details: Class 9 students received a one-time cash award of ₹6,500, while Class 10 students were awarded ₹7,000 each.

Art Competition & Recognition

Prizes were awarded to the winners of the Vivekananda Art Competition (held earlier on 4 January).

  • Top Awards: The five overall top performers received high-value prizes, including 11-inch and 8.7-inch tablets, as well as smartwatches.
  • General Awards: In addition to the five toppers, 17 school-toppers received attractive prizes. All remaining 88 participants were given gifts to recognize their enthusiasm and effort.
  • Institutional Recognition: Every participating school was honored with a certificate and a memento.

Cultural & Community Participation

The program featured a spirited Cultural Programme performed by members of the Ashrama’s Youth Forum. The event saw a robust attendance of:

  • 150 students from 23 local schools.
  • Principals, headteachers, and faculty representatives.
  • A large gathering of guardians and devotees.

The celebration successfully blended academic support, artistic recognition, and cultural inspiration, embodying Swami Vivekananda’s vision of youth empowerment.
