Ramakrishna Mission, Goa, organized an extensive series of events to commemorate National Youth Day 2026, centering on the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Jagriti Competition and the Vivekananda Yuva Kala Mahotsav. While the concluding ceremony was originally scheduled for January 12, it was held on January 25, 2026, due to unforeseen circumstances.
Swami Vivekananda Yuva Jagriti Competition
This competition was designed to test and deepen students’ knowledge of the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
- Round 1 (Online): Conducted on November 9, 2025, with 2,300 registered participants.
- Round 2 (Offline): Held on November 23, 2025, at the Mission Campus for 80 shortlisted candidates, ranging from 5th-standard students to PhD scholars.
Vivekananda Yuva Kala Mahotsav (Drawing Competition)
A large-scale drawing competition was organized to engage the creative talents of the youth.
- Participation: A total of 1,050 students participated.
- Structure: The participants were divided into three groups, covering students from the 1st to the 10th standard.
- Schedule: The events were held across three dates: December 14, 2025; December 21, 2025; and January 11, 2026.
Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony
The culmination of these events took place on January 25, 2026, to honor the excellence of the participants.
- Dignitaries: The ceremony was graced by Shri Vasant Dabholkar, IAS, Deputy Collector of North Goa, who served as the Chief Guest.
- Awardees: Prizes were presented to 111 individual winners, and three schools were recognized for their outstanding contributions.
- Cash Awards: A total of ₹2,72,000/- was distributed in cash prizes.
- Inspirational Gifts: In addition to cash awards and certificates, winners were presented with Swami Vivekananda literature and framed photographs of Swamiji to encourage ongoing spiritual and character development.
