Ramakrishna Math, Rajkot, commemorated National Youth Day with a massive procession (Nagar Parikrama) involving approximately 1,200 participants, on 12 January 2026. The event successfully brought together students from 16 schools and colleges, alongside units of the NSS, NCC, Scouts, and Mission devotees.
Key Highlights:
- Inauguration: The procession was flagged off from the Ashrama premises at 8:30 am by Shri Brajesh Kumar (IPS), Police Commissioner of Rajkot.
- Thematic Chariots: Nine grand chariots were the centerpiece of the rally, showcasing themes such as:
- The message of Swami Vivekananda for the Youth.
- Teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Sister Nivedita.
- Cultural and Patriotic themes: Ram-Darbar, Nasha Mukta Bharat (Drug-Free India), and National Heroes.
- Concluding Session: The procession returned to the Ashrama for a brief valedictory program.
- Awards & Recognition: * All Participants: Received a book by Swami Vivekananda and snacks.
- Student Representatives: Those who participated in the themed chariots received special book sets.
- Coordinators: Teachers and leaders from NSS, NCC, and Scouts were honored with a “Desh-Bhakti” book set and a laminated portrait of Swami Vivekananda.
