The 130th Foundation Day of Ramakrishna Mission was celebrated with devotion and spiritual fervour at Ramakrishna Math, Konampatti (Sivakasi), on Friday, 1 May 2026. The occasion coincided with Buddha Poornima, lending the celebrations an added sense of sanctity.

Ramakrishna Mission was founded on 1 May 1897 by Swami Vivekananda in fulfilment of the vision of Sri Ramakrishna, and its Foundation Day is annually observed across all centres of the Ramakrishna Order as a day of prayer, reflection, and rededication.

The day’s observances were marked by a series of special religious programmes. Akhanda Nama Japa was conducted, filling the ashrama with the continuous chanting of the divine Name. Pushpanjali was offered at the shrine in worship of the Lord. Special Arati and Offerings were performed with due ceremony and devotion, followed by a spiritual Discourse that illumined the significance of the day for those assembled.

Approximately seventy devotees participated in the celebrations. At the conclusion of the programme, prasad was distributed among all present.
