Ramakrishna Mission, Jaipur organized a Spiritual Retreat for devotees on Saturday, 22nd July, 2023.
The event was presided by Swami Devaprabhananda. The keynote address by Maharaj, including the agenda, was followed by his reading a section from the Ramakrishna Vachanamrita. Participants paid rapt attention to the reading and were instructed to visualise the scenes at Dakshineswar. A restful calm descended on the congregation and set the tone for the following session on Meditation.
After the 15 minute meditation guided by Swami Devaprabhananda, the assembly was divided into groups and assigned areas of the temple for cleaning as service to Sri Thakur. Dusters and brooms were provided. A 40 minute time duration was set aside for this activity, wherein the devotees participated in a spirit of sincerity and joyfulness.
Subsequently, when the devotees regathered in the Convention Hall below the temple, Ma Naam Sankirtan, led by Swami Eknishthananda was chanted by all.
This was followed by short speeches by a couple of devotees. Mrs. Varsha Charan spoke on how karma yoga can make our spiritual progress more efficient while Mr. Neogi spoke on the need to coincide our internal spiritual environment with our external everyday life by putting into practice the messages of Sri Thakur, Maa and Swamiji.
At the end of the speeches, a Question Answer session was held and the audience was invited to pose questions related to their spiritual journey.
The session concluded with the melodious singing of ‘Ramakrishna Sharanam’ by the members of Shree Maa Sarada Sangh.
