On 31 March 2024, a deadly tornado struck the Maynaguri area of Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal and many houses and cultivation lands were destroyed. A few were killed and many injured in this disaster.
Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, carried out the relief operation in tornado-affected areas and distributed essential items to around 500 families from 31 March to 4 April 2024.
