A special programme was organised by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Asansol on 11 September 2026 to commemorate the 133rd Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic speeches at the World’s Parliament of Religions, Chicago.
Around 200 students — boys and girls from different trades and streams of the Ashrama’s ITI — participated in the programme. Swami Vivekananda’s celebrated speeches of 11 September 1893 were recited from memory by students in three languages — Bengali, English, and Hindi. Various competitions were also held, including recitation, reading from Swamiji’s historic speeches, and a sit-and-draw competition.
