The 133rd Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions, Chicago, was observed at Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai on 11 September 2026.
The programme commenced with Arati and Bhajans, followed by a Welcome Address and the recitation of the Swadesh Mantra. Students and teachers delivered speeches on the significance and message of Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago Address. Swami Tatprabhananda and Swami Dharmishthananda also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
Sri Sarath Babu, CEO of Food King and an accomplished entrepreneur, attended as Chief Guest and spoke on the significance of the occasion and the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s message to the present generation.
As part of the programme, 114 prizes were distributed to winners of various literary competitions held on 9 September 2026. More than 250 students from 14 different schools, along with more than 600 students from the Students’ Home and its own institutions, participated in the programme.
A documentary on the activities of Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai was screened, showcasing its educational, residential, technical, and service activities. Lunch Prasad was served to all participants.
