A Youth Convention was organised by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram at Maa Sarada Sabhangan on 11 September 2026, to commemorate the 133rd Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions, Chicago. Around 400 participants — students and teachers — from 60 educational institutions in and around Jhargram town attended the convention.
Swami Kritarthananda, a senior monk from Belur Math, spoke on the significance of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago lectures. Swami Krishnanathananda, Editor, Udbodhan Patrika, addressed the gathering on character building in the light of Swamiji’s teachings. Sri Tarun Goswami, Consulting Editor, The Statesman, spoke on the inspiring personality of Swami Vivekananda.
All participants were presented with a book on Swami Vivekananda and a photograph, and were served a meal at the conclusion of the programme.
