Universal Brotherhood Day 2026: Hatamuniguda

The 133rd Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions, Chicago, was observed with solemnity at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda on 11 September 2026.

The programme commenced with the offering of flowers to Swami Vivekananda, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Swami Gitatmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, welcomed the gathering and spoke on the significance of the occasion.

Sriman Bajrangi Gond delivered an evocative recitation of the historic Chicago Address. Sriman Aman Kandagori spoke on the relevance of universal brotherhood in the contemporary world, and Shri Tathagata Mishra highlighted the message that Swami Vivekananda carried from India to the West. Swami Prabhuvarananda addressed the gathering on the essence of universal brotherhood.

The Chief Guest, Prof. P. Arun Kumar, Head, Department of Political Science, Rayagada (Autonomous) College, delivered an address on Swami Vivekananda’s vision of universal brotherhood.

The proceedings concluded with the screening of a documentary on the life, ideals, and legacy of Swami Vivekananda.
