Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip observed the 133rd Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions, Chicago, through two programmes held on 11 and 13 September 2026.
On 11 September 2026, a film show on Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Address was screened for teachers and underprivileged students enrolled in the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP), Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa (VAP), and the Free Coaching Centre (FCC) conducted by the Ashrama. In the evening, Prof. Dr. Siharan Chakraborty, President, Managing Committee, Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip, delivered a special lecture on the subject. Approximately 100 participants, including local youths, attended the programme.
On 13 September 2026, a Youth Convention (Yuva Jagaran Sabha) was held at the Swami Vagishananda Hall from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with 135 delegates in attendance. The programme commenced with Vedic Mantra chanting by the monastic members, a song offering by Swami Shyamalananda, and a recitation of Swami Vivekananda’s words by Sri Subhankar Basak.
Dr. Siharan Chakraborty, also Assistant Professor, Ramakrishna Mission Shikshan Mandira, Belur Math, addressed the delegates on “Duties and Responsibilities of Students and Swami Vivekananda.” Swami Dhatrananda of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sohra (Cherrapunjee) spoke on “Swami Vivekananda’s Call to the Youth.” A question-and-answer session was also held. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Sri Sabyasachi Mondal, Vice President, Managing Committee, Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip. The programme was anchored by Sri Sandip Pal, Assistant Secretary, Managing Committee, Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip.
