To commemorate the Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Address (11 September 1893), Ramakrishna Math, Haripad, organised two Vivekananda Values Education Camps for school students on 11th and 12th September 2025.
11th September 2025 – National High School, Vallamkulam, Pathanamthitta
A total of 216 students participated in the camp. The sessions focused on “Overcoming Examination Fear” and “Goal Setting”, while the introduction highlighted the significance of 11th September and Swamiji’s message of harmony of religions.
The programme began with lighting of the lamp, garlanding and pushpanjali to Swamiji’s photo by students, staff, the Principal, and PTA members. Talks were delivered by the monk and guest speaker, followed by interactive sessions with the students. At the conclusion, a large framed photo of Swamiji with his sayings and a set of books were gifted to the school library. Books and snacks were distributed to all students.
12th September 2025 – Swami Vivekananda Higher Secondary School, Pandanadu
In this camp, 185 students participated. The sessions covered “The Way to Success”, “Sharpening the Thinking Power”, and “Brain Teasers”, with an introductory talk on the importance of 11th September and Swamiji’s Chicago Address.
The programme followed a similar pattern of welcoming, lighting of the lamp, talks, interaction, and the gifting of Swamiji’s photo and books to the school library. Books and snacks were also distributed to all participants.
Through these two camps, 401 students from two schools benefitted by learning Swami Vivekananda’s practical values for success, strength of character, and harmony of religions.
