Universal Brotherhood Day: Kadapa, September 2025

On 11th September 2025, Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa, organised three programmes to commemorate the Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions, Chicago (1893).

At VVN High School, Kadapa
The programme began with a puja to Swami Vivekananda, followed by a speech recitation competition where students recited portions of Swamiji’s Chicago Address. Swami Anupamananda delivered an inspiring talk on the significance and impact of the address. Smt. Jayalakshmi, Headmistress, and Sri Naga Prasad, School In-charge, also addressed the gathering. The programme concluded with a vibrant cultural dance conveying Swamiji’s message. A total of 300 students participated, with sessions conducted in English, Telugu, Hindi, and Sanskrit. Prizes were distributed to the winners.

At Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa
The event began with floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda and a prayer song by students. Prof. K. Rama Subba Reddy introduced the programme, followed by an address by Prof. Padma, Registrar of the University. Sri B. Sivaram Reddy highlighted the context in which Swami Vivekananda participated in the Parliament of Religions. Swami Anupamananda, the keynote speaker, elaborated on the background and impact of the Chicago Address, urging the students to study Swamiji’s literature for inspiration and guidance. Over 100 students, research scholars, and faculty members participated.

At Vasavi Junior College, Chagalamari, Nandyala District
The programme opened with floral offerings and a prayer song. Sri B. Raghu Ram, Correspondent of the College, welcomed the gathering. Prof. K. Rama Subba Reddy spoke on how Swamiji’s Chicago Address marked the beginning of India’s regeneration. Sri B. Sivaram Reddy inspired students to take Swamiji as their role model. Swami Anupamananda, the chief speaker, spoke on the universal brotherhood fostered by Swamiji’s message and its continuing relevance in inspiring generations of Indians. Over 300 intermediate students participated in the event.
