Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa, conducted a non-residential Summer Camp for children aged 8 to 16 years from 26 April to 10 May 2026. A total of 115 children participated in the program, which aimed to foster spiritual growth, physical well-being, and moral education through structured activities.
The daily schedule, spanning from 7:45 AM to 11:30 AM, included recitation of Prarthana Slokas, practice of Yogasanas, breakfast, chanting of Stotras, Bhajans, and life lessons derived from stories from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Srimad Bhagavatham, and the lives of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and other revered personalities. Drawing and handicrafts were integrated into the routine to nurture creativity and manual dexterity.
The camp featured a trekking activity to the nearby hillock of Palakonda, renowned for its scenic beauty, to promote physical fitness and environmental awareness. A session of Padapuja to parents was also organized to instill values of respect and gratitude towards elders.
Competitions were held in Stotra Path, Bhajans, Yogasana, Drawing, and Handicraft, with children actively engaging in these events. The valedictory function on 10 May concluded the camp, during which children performed Padapuja to their parents. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the competitions.
Prof. K. Rama Subba Reddy, Head of the Department of Physical Education at Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa, was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function. He delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of holistic development and presented the prizes to the participants.
The camp concluded with a sense of fulfillment, reflecting the successful integration of spiritual, physical, and moral education for the young participants.
