Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, observed Universal Brotherhood Day with solemnity on 11th September 2025, commemorating of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions.
The programme began with an opening song by the students, followed by a welcome and introductory address by Swami Gitatmananda, Secretary. Recitation of Swamiji’s Chicago Addresses by Sriman Surendra Machlipadia and a synopsis by Sriman Hemanta Majhi brought alive the spirit of the occasion. Shri Shuvankar Chakraborty, Teacher, reflected on the relevance of Swamiji’s message in contemporary society, while Swami Prabhuvarananda highlighted the ideal of universal brotherhood inherent in the Chicago Addresses.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Biplab Kanti Sengupta, former Professor and Head, Department of Architecture and Regional Planning, IIT Kharagpur, delivered an illuminating address on the enduring significance of Swamiji’s message.
The event concluded with a cultural presentation by the students, including the drama Jnana Jyoti Vivekananda, which left the audience deeply inspired.
