Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur, jointly organized a Youth Empowerment Program with National College, Trichy, on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Theme and Participants
The program was centered on the theme “We, the 100 – the 100-youth envisioned by Swami Vivekananda,” which served to inspire young participants to recognize and realize their inherent potential. A total of 100 students participated in this motivating session.
Key Addresses
The event featured motivational addresses focused on developing self-confidence. Speakers included Dr. Prasanna Balaji, Vice Principal of National College, and Dr. Karuthan, both of whom delivered inspiring talks to the assembled students. The program successfully aligned with the Math’s mission to foster the ideals of Swami Vivekananda among the youth.
2. Programme for Teachers (October 11, 2025)
An exclusive program for teachers was conducted on Saturday, October 11, 2025. This session brought together 90 teachers from Little Scholar Matriculation School and Morning Star Matriculation School.
Special Address and Insights
The highlight of the event was the special address by Dr. Kannappan, Director of School Education, Tamil Nadu. He emphasized the profound responsibility of educators, stating that “Teachers must accept their students as their own children. They should cultivate discipline and guide their students to realize their dreams.”
Following this, Swami Vimurtananda offered a thoughtful segment, explaining the three types of teachers: fly, mosquito, and honeybee, a classification likely illustrating various approaches and impacts teachers can have on their students.
Teacher Engagement and Resources
The participating teachers actively shared their perspectives and insights under four engaging themes:
- “If I were the Education Minister…”
- “My Dream School”
- “My Ideal Students”
- “Teachers who Transformed Society”
The program also included exclusive video presentations tailored for the teaching community, and all participants were presented with books of Swami Vivekananda, providing them with valuable resources for personal and professional inspiration. This event served as a platform for reflection, dialogue, and rejuvenation for the educators.
