Programme Scope and Reach
Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Tamluk, successfully completed its extensive Value-Based Education Programme (VBEP), reaching students across the districts of Purba Medinipur and Paschim Medinipur.
The program successfully engaged 25 schools over a period from June 2025 to September 2025. The initiative aimed to instill moral and ethical values through a blend of academic and cultural activities.
Intra-School Activities
Within the 25 participating schools, a comprehensive schedule of activities was conducted for students ranging from Class V to Class XII. These activities included cultural competitions, seminars, and prize-giving ceremonies.
- Participation: Approximately 10,000 students took part in the intra-school competitions and seminars, demonstrating widespread enthusiasm and engagement.
- Awards: The first, second, and third prize winners in each event were duly recognized and awarded.
Inter-School Concluding Ceremony
The programme culminated in a grand day-long Inter-School Competitions and Seminar held on September 23, 2025, at the Math premises. This final event brought together the top performers—the first prize winners of each event from each of the 25 schools.
Attendance: The concluding programme saw the participation of approximately 250 students from the different schools, along supported by faculty and volunteers. In total, 352 people attended the event, including:
- 250 Students
- 50 Teachers
- 27 Judges
- 25 Volunteers
Seminar and Distinguished Guests
The day concluded with a seminar and prize-giving ceremony graced by esteemed guests:
- Welcome Address: Swami Shrutisarananda, Secretary of the Sevashrama, Tamluk, delivered the welcome address.
- Chief Guest: Swami Stavapriyananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ramharipur, Bankura, served as the Chief Guest. He delivered a valuable speech focused on “The Message of Swamiji to the modern Youth.”
- Special Guest of Honour: Prankrishna Samanta, Headmaster of Bagdoba Jalpai High School, served as the Special Guest of Honour and spoke on “The necessity of value-based education.”
The seminar was followed by an interesting question-answer session, allowing students to interact directly with the speakers.
Distribution of Prizes and Gifts
During the final ceremony, the first, second, and third prize winners of the inter-school events were rewarded. In an appreciation of their contributions, all participants and judges were presented with gifts.
The programme successfully came to a close with a vote of thanks to the Chair delivered by Dr. Narayan Chandra Maity, the President of the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Tamluk. The successful completion of the VBEP was a testament to the dedicated effort of everyone involved.
