A Freshers’ Welcome programme — नवीन बरन’ — was conducted on Sunday, 28 June 2026, at the Brahmananda Dham Prayer Hall, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, to welcome new students into the traditional Gurukul system. The programme was conceived as a unique and inspiring occasion to impress upon young minds the importance of beginning their life’s journey with devotion, discipline, and a deep connection to cultural roots.
The ceremony commenced with Special Worship of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna, invoking the blessings of the Holy Trio upon the freshers. This was followed by the Vidyarthi Vrata Homa, during which 103 new students took their vows by reciting the Vidyarthi Vrata mantra and offering Vilva leaves into the sacred fire.
The senior students extended a warm welcome to the new entrants with sandal paste, bouquets, and lockets, following which the new students introduced themselves to the gathering. The programme concluded with the distribution of Prasad to all present.
