The “Poor Widow Welfare Service” along with “Maa Sarada Annakshetra (Weekly)” are core service activities of Ramakrishna Mission, Dibrugarh started way back in the year 2019-20. The ashrama is serving 40 poor widow mothers under “Poor Widow Welfare Service” from the month of April 2022 and serving weekly annadanam (cooked food) under “Maa Sarada Annakshetra” to 70-80 people, all the Sundays of the month.
Apart from helping the widows with a pecuniary help of Rs. 1000/- per month, the ashrama also helped them to access medical facilities and distribute them dry ration kits on 5 March 2023.
Each Ration Kit contains the following items :
Wheat flour (Ata) 2 Kg, Mustard Oil 1 Kg, Masur Dal 1 Kg, Salt 1 Kg, Sugar 1 Kg, Soyabin Chunks 1⁄2 Kg, Flattened rice (Chira) 1⁄2 Kg, Soap (Body/Detergent) 2 pcs, Biscuit 1 Pkt.
Also, the ashrama distribute cooked food through the weekly Maa Sarada Annakshetra project, and served cooked food (khichuri, curry, achar and sweet) to 70 to 80 needy people every Sunday.
