In connection with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ramakrishna Mission, Shimla, organized a brief programme on Swami Vivekananda and book distribution programme at Himachal Pradesh Assembly during the Monsoon Session to All Members of Legislative Assembly and Officers of Himachal Pradesh Govt on 12th August 2022. During the Programme, Honourable Chief Minister Sri Jai Ram Thakur Ji and all Cabinet Ministers participated. After the programme, 500 books were distributed among all Members, Officers and Media Persons who took part in this programme.
A Youth Convention was organised at Govt Secondary School Summerhill, Shimla in Himachal Pradesh University Campus on 6 August 2022. 250 students and teachers from class 9 onwards took part. They spoke about the vision of Swami Vivekananda of Ideal India, about India’s prosperity at its completion of the 75 years of Independence, about the Unsung Heroes of our freedom movement, and about the upliftment of women and masses through education and culture.
On 13 August 2022, a similar Youth Convention was organised at Govt Higher Secondary School Dharampur and Govt Degree College Dharampur, in Solan District of Himachal Pradesh in which around 800 students, professors and scientists took part. Hon’ble Health Minister of Himachal Pradesh Dr Rajiv Saizal also took part in this programme. Some students and professors spoke on the above subjects and also spoke about the importance of the teachings of Swami Vivekananda in the present scenario. Swami Tanmahimananda spoke about the need to follow the teachings of Swami Vivekananda for all round development of youth in particular and all mankind in general. At the end of the two conventions, every participant was presented with one copy of Swami Vivekananda Literature by the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Shimla.
