Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai and Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai are jointly conducting relief activities, to take care of Covid patients, to support the Covid front line warriors, daily wage workers and needy people.
Covid-19 Pandemic Relief work carried out from 22 June ’21 to 29 July ’21
Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, and Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, Chennai have jointly conducted the following relief activities to take care of Covid patients:
Supply of Covid care kits to home quarantined Covid positive patients: Covid Care kits worth Rs.2000 each (pulse oximeter, vaporizer, digital thermometer, face masks, sanitizer, soap, packets of immunity boosters (kabasura kudineer) vitamin C and D3 tablets and zinc tablets are given to them free of cost. We have distributed 1900 Covid care kits to patients between 22-06-2021 to 29-07-2021. Member Ashramas of Tamil Nadu Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Bhava Prachar Parishad have actively participated in the distribution of these kits to the needy.
Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, Chennai has conducted the following relief activities to help the needy families during Covid-19 lockdown:
Grocery Kits to Daily wage workers:
Each family was given groceries Kit(Rice- 5kgs, Wheat flour-1kg, Toor Dhal- 500gms, Urad Dhal-500gms, Salt- 500gms, Sugar- 500gms, Palm Oil- 1 litre, Tamarind-250gms, Dhaniya powder-250gms, Turmeric powder- 50gms, Chilly powder- 250gms, Masala powder- 20gms, Mustard- 50gms, Cumin seeds- 50gms, Pepper- 50gms, Puliodharai mix- 30gms) – 2000 needy Daily wage workers’ families in various districts of Tamil Nadu.
Grocery Kits to Private School Teachers:
Each family was given Rs.1000 worth groceries Kit(Toor Dhal- 2kgs, Urad Dhal-1kg, Moong Dhal 1 kg, Fried Gram 1kg, Rava 1kg, Salt- 1kg, Sugar- 2kgs, Sambar powder-200gms, Turmeric powder- 200gms, Chilly powder- 200gms, Mustard- 200gms, Cumin seeds- 200gms, bathing-washing soaps 1 set, 100gms of toothpaste, immunity booster) – to750 needy private school teachers who get 50% or fewer salaries per month in various districts of Tamil Nadu.
Covid-19 Pandemic Relief work carried out from in June ’21
Supply of Covid care kits to Covid positive patients staying in their homes: Covid Care kits (pulse oximeter, vaporizer, digital thermometer, face masks, sanitiser, soap, packets of immunity boosters (kabasura kudineer) vitamin C and D3 tablets and zinc tablets were given to them free of cost every day. 429 Covid care kits were distributed to patients between 01 and 20 June 2020.
Help to Covid front line warriors: The centre distributed vapour inhalers and stainless steel flasks kits to those who are fighting the corona pandemic from the front – 147 nos. of doctors, nurses, lab technicians, other hospital staff in Govt Institute of Mental Health, Kilpauk, Chennai, and other 13 hospitals in Chennai between 01 June and 20 June.
Food Packets to Hospital Staff and needy people: The centre started distributing food packets prepared in our Home kitchen because complete lockdown to needy – 4650 packets of lunch and dinner is served every day from 01 – 07 June 2021 to volunteers, staff and caregivers to patients Rajiv Gandhi Multi-Specialty Government Hospital, Multi Super-Speciality Hospital in Omandurar Government Estate, Chennai, and to needy people -street dwellers and destitute in Adayar area with the assistance of Chennai Police.
Pulse oximeters- 15 nos., 20 Digital Thermometers, 5 vaporizers were distributed to various Covid-care centres in Chennai.
