Heavy rainfall in recent days caused rivers and drains in the Krishna Nagar (IDPL) and Shisham Jhari localities of Rishikesh to overflow, resulting in severe waterlogging with floodwater and dirty water entering residential homes. The situation gave rise to serious concerns over sanitation, drainage infrastructure, and public safety in the affected neighbourhoods.
In response to this critical situation, Ramakrishna Math, Rishikesh organised a flood relief distribution programme on 24 August 2026, extending assistance to 100 affected families across the two localities. The following essential commodities were distributed:
| Sl. No. | Relief Item | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rice | 200 kg |
| 2 | Atta (wheat flour) | 300 kg |
| 3 | Dal (pulses) | 300 kg |
| 4 | Potatoes | 250 kg |
| 5 | Edible Oil | 100 litres |
| 6 | Soap | 300 pieces |
