Under the auspices of Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi-Morabadi, the Khet Bachao Abhiyan (Save the Field Campaign) and the Balanced Fertiliser Use Campaign were formally launched at the centre’s premises in Morabadi, Ranchi.
The campaign is being conducted as part of a nationwide initiative organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, scheduled from 1 June to 30 June 2026 across the country. Programme Proceedings
Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh welcomed the distinguished guests and delivered a detailed technical presentation on the objectives of the campaign. His address covered the judicious management of soil nutrients, the balanced application of fertilisers, and the adoption of climate-responsive agricultural technologies as means of preserving soil health and enhancing crop productivity.
Dr. D. B. Singh, Principal Scientist, ICAR-ATARI, Patna (Zone-4), spoke on the imperative of reducing dependence on fertiliser imports through the promotion of balanced fertiliser use at the field level. He further apprised the gathering that a significant number of Soil Health Cards have been issued across the nation, and encouraged the use of soil-test-based fertiliser application as a means of increasing agricultural production and achieving food self-sufficiency.

Scientists of Divyayan KVK, including Dr. Neha Rajan, Dr. Vishakha Singh, and E. O. P. Sharma, were present on the occasion. The programme was conducted by Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singh, and the formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Rajesh Kumar.
