Ramakrishna Math, Ahmedabad, celebrated National Sports Day 2026 on 30 August 2026 under the inspiring theme “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat.” Based on the ideal that “a healthy mind resides in a healthy body,” the programme aimed to encourage rural children and youth to embrace physical fitness, sportsmanship, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle.
A total of 222 children and youth from eight neighbouring villages—Fangdi, Goraj, Shreenagar, Khicha, Vinchiya, Juda, Gokulpura, and Lekhamba—participated enthusiastically in the celebration.
The main attraction was a cycle race, which provided the participants an opportunity to enjoy healthy competition while developing physical confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship. An inspiring session was also conducted on the lifelong benefits of regular exercise, followed by a formal health and discipline pledge.
The programme concluded with the distribution of snacks to all participants. The celebration successfully promoted the values of physical fitness, discipline, healthy living, and character building, inspiring the younger generation to lead healthy and purposeful lives under the blessings of the Holy Trio.
