On the occasion of National Sports Day, observed on 29 August 2026, Ramakrishna Mission Nivedita Educational & Cultural Centre, Darjeeling organised a modest sports event in alignment with the Government of India’s initiative Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat.
As mid-term examinations were in progress at the time, the scope of the programme was kept limited. Students and children enrolled in the centre’s free coaching programme participated in a selection of outdoor sporting activities. Events included kho-kho, running races, and boxing.
