National Sports Day 2026: Narainpur

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur, celebrated National Sports Day 2026 on 29 and 30 August 2026 under the inspiring theme “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat” — a nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The celebrations were organised through Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyapeeth, Narainpur, with a series of programmes designed to cultivate awareness among students of the importance of physical fitness, yoga, gymnastics, sports, and a healthy and disciplined way of life.

29 August 2026 — Birth Anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand

The first day of celebrations coincided with the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. A variety of traditional games of Chhattisgarh as well as modern sporting activities were organised for students across all levels.

30 August 2026 — NCC Day

On the second day, the Junior and Senior Division NCC cadets of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyapeeth presented a special programme on the Ashrama campus. The cadets offered demonstrations of yoga and gymnastics, followed by an impressive NCC parade. Their disciplined performance and coordinated movements gave expression to the values of dedication, physical fitness, self-confidence, and national pride that both sports and NCC activities seek to nurture in young students.

Dr. B. C. Roy Trophy Junior Boys NCF 2026–27

The National Sports Day celebrations were further enriched by the ongoing Dr. B. C. Roy Trophy Junior Boys NCF 2026–27 football tournament, hosted on the Ashrama campus. The Chhattisgarh team — composed predominantly of students of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyapeeth, Narainpur — delivered a commendable performance in the tournament:
