Ramakrishna Mission, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, celebrated the National Youth Day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on 12 January 2022. The programme started in the ashrama school campus with floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda statue by the monastics, teachers and staffs in the morning. A few students spoke on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Smt. Kamini Bashyam, a devote, spoke on the life and teaching of Swamiji.
To commemorate the historic event of Swamiji’s arrival at Chengalpattu railway station on 6th February 1897, a small celebration was arranged by both Ashrama and Railway Department. All the monastics of Ashrama, dignitaries of Railway department, our school teachers, devotees and well-wishers participated in the programme, which started with Prayers, Vedic Chanting, Arati to Holy Trio and floral tributes by all the dignitaries present there. Railway’s Station Manager Sri Suresh Babu, Railway Inspector, Railway Transport officer spoke at the Railway Station on the occasion. Swami Vedapriyananda, Secretary of the Ashrama, honored the Railway officers presenting with shawls and books on Swamiji.
