Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kailashahar, commemorated the 164th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day with a series of grand events conducted in three phases.
Seminar on Values Education (03/01/2026)
The celebrations began at the historic Kailashahar Kalakshetra (Town Hall) with a seminar focused on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
- Theme: The seminar featured a deep exploration of the topic “দেবত্বের সন্ধানে” (In Search of Divinity).
- Distinguished Speakers: The event was graced by several esteemed Monks of the Ramakrishna Order:
- Swami Gandhishanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, RKM Ashrama, Silchar.
- Swami Premaghananandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Karimganj (Sribhumi).
- Swami Shastrajnanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, RKM Ashrama, Narendrapur.
- Swami Girijanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, RKM Ashrama, Kailashahar.
- Engaging Activities: The program included insightful deliberations, an interactive question-and-answer session, a debate, and musical performances by students from various schools.
- Attendance: Approximately 700 students from 11 schools participated, alongside 200 teachers, intellectuals, and devotees.
- Closing: The session concluded with the stirring song, “Swamijir Mantra Mora Bhulbo Na”.
Youth Convention (12/01/2026)
On National Youth Day, the Ashrama hosted a vibrant Youth Convention to inspire the next generation.
- Interactive Sessions: The day featured a screening of a short documentary on Swami Vivekananda’s life and various competitions organized for students from 11 local schools.
- Participation: The convention was attended by 260 students and 60 teachers and guardians.
- Gift of Knowledge: To encourage spiritual and character growth, books on the lives of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda were distributed to the students.
- Community Prasad: Prasad was served to approximately 330 attendees.
