Ramakrishna Mission, Sahudangi, observed National Youth Day on January 12, 2026, with a series of spiritual, academic, and creative events. The celebration was marked by great fervor and solemnity, drawing a total of 570 participants, including 300 students, 200 parents, 50 devotees, and 20 staff members.
Morning Commemoration and Procession
The festivities began at 8:30 AM with a grand procession.
- Public Outreach: Students, teachers, parents, and devotees marched through local areas carrying placards inscribed with Swami Vivekananda’s quotes to spread his message to the public.
- Floral Tributes: Following the rally, the participants gathered at the school for a ceremonial floral tribute to Swamiji, accompanied by the singing of devotional songs.
Educational Sessions and Competitions
The program transitioned into a specialized session focused on the intellectual and spiritual development of the students.
- Keynote Insights: Selected speakers shared insights on Swamiji’s teachings, emphasizing the “Abhih” (Fearlessness) mantra and the vital role of Concentration and Meditation in a student’s life.
- Art Competition: A drawing competition themed “Life and Vision of Swami Vivekananda” was organized for students in Classes I to V, allowing them to express Swamiji’s ideals through creativity.
- Awards and Scholarships: Prizes were awarded to the winners of the art competition. Furthermore, merit scholarships were distributed to deserving students to encourage their ongoing academic pursuits.
Conclusion
The celebration reached its conclusion at 12:30 PM with a formal “Vote of Thanks” and the collective singing of “Ramakrishna Sharanam.” To mark the auspicious occasion, nutritious snacks and sweet prasad were distributed to all students and staff members.
