Following its long-standing tradition, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Taki, observed National Youth Day on 12 January 2026 with deep reverence and a magnificent public procession that brought together the local community.
The Grand Procession (8:00 AM – 10:30 AM)
A vibrant and massive procession, featuring over 1,250 participants, marched a five-kilometer route from the Ashrama to the Swami Vivekananda statue at Hasnabad and back.
- Key Attractions: The parade featured an elaborate tableau and cutouts of the Holy Trio, along with three beautifully decorated palanquins carrying their portraits.
- Creative Participation: A highlight of the event was the children dressed as Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. Prizes were awarded for the best portrayals, and all participating children received consolation prizes to encourage their spirit.
- Groups Involved: Participants included students from the Mission’s Primary and High Schools, children from the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa, members of the Yuva Parishad (Vivek Sena), the Scout group, and students from several neighboring schools.
- Atmosphere: The air was filled with patriotic slogans and devotional songs, accompanied by a professional Band and Tasa party. Students carried hand placards inscribed with Swamiji’s transformative messages.
Commemorative Meeting
Upon reaching the Swami Vivekananda statue at Hasnabad, a public meeting was held to inspire the gathering.

- Dignitaries: The meeting was also attended by Councilors of the Taki Municipality and other eminent local citizens.
Conclusion and Hospitality
The speakers highlighted Swamiji’s vision for a strong and vibrant India, urging the youth to embody his teachings of strength and character. Following the successful termination of the procession back at the Ashrama, tiffin packets were distributed to all participants.
