Ramakrishna Mission, Jhargram, observed National Youth Day on 12 January 2026 with a grand celebration marked by a vibrant town procession and a high-profile youth convention.
Morning Procession: A Triumphant Start
The festivities commenced from the Ashrama campus with a colorful procession featuring students from the two schools of Ramakrishna Mission, Jhargram.
- Inauguration: The procession was inaugurated by Revered Swami Sumanasanandaji Maharaj (Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark).
- A Symbolic Tribute: Revered Maharaj personally led the march for the first kilometer and offered a floral tribute at the statue of Swami Vivekananda located at the entrance of Jhargram town.
Youth Convention & Cultural Programs
Following the procession, a Youth Convention and cultural program were held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, serving as a platform for inspiration and intellectual exchange.
- Participation: The convention saw an overwhelming response, with 1,650 participants representing 50 different institutions.
- Eminent Speakers: The gathering was addressed by a distinguished panel of guests, including:
- Revered Swami Sumanasanandaji Maharaj
- Dr. Akansha Bhaskar, I.A.S. (District Magistrate, Jhargram)
- Smt. Chinmoyee Maranti (Zilla Sabhapati, Jhargram)
- Sri Tarun Goswami (Coordinating Editor, The Statesman)
Hospitality and Mementos
In the spirit of the occasion, all 1,650 participants were provided with tiffin and lunch packets. Additionally, to ensure Swamiji’s message continues to inspire them, every attendee was presented with a book on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
