Flood Relief
West Bengal: Continuing its flood relief services in North Bengal, Siliguri centre distributed 181 bedding sets (each set consisted of a mattress, a bed-sheet, and 2 pillows with covers) among 181 affected families in Jalpaiguri district on 31 December.
Fire Relief
Bangladesh: In the wake of a fire incident in March that burned down a house at Domrakandi in Gopalganj district, Bagerhat centre distributed 10 kg rice, 5 kg pulses, 20 kg potatoes, 2 litres of cooking oil, 5 kg salt and 10 blankets to the affected family on 14 March. The centre also provided 35 corrugated tin sheets on the same day to the family to rebuild their house.
TB Patients’ Relief
Maharashtra: Mumbai centre distributed nutritional kits to 150 TB patients from December to February. Each kit contained 1 kg rice, 4 kg flour, 1 kg pulses, 1 kg roasted gram, 1 kg roasted groundnuts and assorted dry fruits.

Mumbai: (a) Ration kits to 8 cancer patients from 1 December to 24 March. Each kit contained 2 kg rice, 2 kg flour, 1 kg pulses, 250 g soya chunks, 1 litre cooking oil, 500 g ground spices, 500 g salt, 2 packets of biscuits, 1 bar of bathing soap and 80 g detergent powder. (b) Nutritional kits to 198 female patients from December to February. Each kit contained 1 kg rice, 4 kg flour, 1 kg pulses, 1 kg roasted gram, 1 kg roasted groundnuts and assorted dry fruits.
Naora: 1250 kg rice, 250 kg pulses, 1250 kg potatoes, 250 kg soya chunks, 250 packets of biscuits, 250 saris and 100 children’s garments on 20 March.
Sribhumi (Karimganj): 50 saris on 1 March.
Vadodara: 560 kg flour, 230 kg rice, 140 kg pulses, 75 litres cooking oil, 50 kg salt, 13 kg ground spices, 90 kg sugar, 22.5 kg tea powder and 30 bars of bathing soap from 1 to 18 March.
Varanasi Home of Service: 1076 kg dalia (wheat groats), 87 kg chira (rice flakes), 237 kg soya chunks, 45 kg gram, 12.5 kg groundnuts, 21 litres cooking oil, 160 litres milk, 8 kg malt drink mix, 214 packets of biscuits, 109 kg dry fruits, 29 kg sweets, 94 tubes of toothpaste and 181 bars of bathing soap from 2 January to 20 February.

Cyclone Rehabilitation

Andhra Pradesh: Cyclone Montha made landfall on the coast of Andhra Pradesh on 28 October, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds that damaged crops, uprooted trees and inundated several areas. The local fishermen were the most severely affected, losing their very means of subsistence, as the cyclone decimated their equipment and access to the sea. In response, Rajamahendravaram centre, with financial assistance from the Headquarters, distributed fishing boats and fishing nets to 100 such families of West Godavari district on 28 February.
Distress Rehabilitation
West Bengal: The Headquarters repaired a house of a poor lady in Ichapur, Howrah district, in February, under the ‘Build your own house’ scheme.
Economic Rehabilitation

Assam: Guwahati centre provided 11 sewing machines and 11 handloom machines (tantsals) to needy trained women on 1 March.
Rajasthan: Khetri centre handed over 30 sewing machines to as many trainees on 5 March, upon the completion of their training at the centre’s tailoring school.
