To promote sports and athletic development among students, the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Asansol, successfully organized the SAIL-KHEL Sports Programme 2026. This initiative sought to foster physical fitness and competitive spirit among students from various ITI, Polytechnic, and degree colleges across the Paschim Bardhaman and Purulia districts.

Sports & Participation
The programme featured a diverse range of athletic and team sports, including a 5 km Marathon titled “Race for World Peace,” football, cricket, and various track and field events.
A total of 743 students participated in the event, distributed across the following disciplines:
- Marathon: 307 participants
- Athletics: 180 participants
- Football: 128 participants (8 teams of 16 students each)
- Cricket: 128 participants (8 teams of 16 students each)
In addition to the broader competition, 132 students from the Ashrama’s own ITI participated in the programme.

Prize Distribution Ceremony
To celebrate the achievements of the participants, two prize distribution ceremonies were held at the Ashrama premises:
- 23 February 2026: Prizes were awarded to the winners of the Marathon and athletic events (run, long jump, shotput, and discus).
- 28 February 2026: Prizes were awarded to the winning and runner-up teams of the Football and Cricket tournaments.
The ceremonies were attended by several distinguished guests, including monks of the Ashrama, the Secretaries of Ramakrishna Mission centers from Agartala, Deoghar, and Rourkela, and senior officials from SAIL-ISP, Burnpur.
