Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi, has successfully concluded the third batch of its exclusive Skill Development Programme designed specifically for ex-servicemen. This long-term initiative aligns with the Government of India’s focused efforts toward the effective rehabilitation and welfare of defense personnel.
About Divyayan KVK
Divyayan KVK, recognized as one of the country’s most reputed Krishi Vigyan Kendras, continues its steadfast contribution to nation-building through engagement with farmers, rural communities, ex-servicemen, and various government agencies.
The KVK has received multiple national honours, including:
- Best KVK at the National Level by ICAR, New Delhi (1996–97 and 2016–17).
- Best KVK at the Zonal Level (2016–17).
- Best KVK at the National Level for 2019–20 by the Outlook Group.
Programme Details and Collaboration
The comprehensive, theme-based training programme is a dedicated 60-day module meticulously customized for ex-servicemen. It is sponsored by and conducted in collaboration with the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
To date, Divyayan KVK has successfully trained 79 ex-servicemen across three batches, including the latest cohort of 21 trainees.
Curriculum and Focus Areas
The curriculum balances theoretical instruction with hands-on practical exposure across multiple high-potential sectors, including Dairy, Poultry, Goat Farming, Mushroom Production, Apiculture (Beekeeping), and Bio-Input Resource Development.
The recently concluded batch, comprising 21 trainees from the Army and Air Force, focused on the following three-week modules:
- Mushroom Production
- Apiculture (Beekeeping and Honey Production)
- Bio-Input Resource Development
Each thematic module covered essential business components, including animal health, nutrition, specialized infrastructure, human resource and financial management, entrepreneurship development (business plan preparation), and marketing. The training included market development and market capture strategies, providing updated knowledge on digital marketing tools and online platforms.
Valedictory Ceremony
The third batch of sponsored defense personnel successfully completed their training on November 21, 2025. Certificates were awarded to all trainees during the formal valedictory ceremony.
The function was graced by:
- Swami Antrananda Ji Maharaj, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi, who delivered the benedictory address.
- Col (Retd.) S.K. Gupta, Deputy Director, Sainik Nideshalaya, Ranchi, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Col Gupta emphasized the importance of such programs and encouraged the trainees to utilize their new skills for personal advancement and broader social contribution. Trainee participants expressed profound appreciation for the high-quality training. KVK scientists and visiting professional experts were present, with Dr. Rajesh Kumar delivering the welcome address and Dr. Ajit Singh proposing the vote of thanks.
