Sri Sri Annapurna Puja 2026: Manasadwip

On 26 and 27 March 2026, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Manasadwip, celebrated Sri Sri Annapurna Puja with traditional humility and devotion. As the only Annapurna Puja on the island, the event saw large-scale participation from the local village community.

The highlights of the two-day observance included:

  • Spiritual Observances: The puja commenced in the early hours of 26 March at the Nat Mandir, accompanied by the recitation of Sri Sri Chandi Path. Simultaneously, special worship of Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi was performed in the Garbha Griha. The morning and afternoon sessions were dedicated to Upanishadic chanting, hymns, and bhajans.
  • Devotional Programs: Following the Sandhyarati on 26 March, the Ashrama organized Ma Sarada Nama Sankirtan and various devotional songs. On the evening of 27 March, Sri Sri Ramanama Sankirtan was performed to mark the auspicious Ram Navami Tithi.
  • Prasad Distribution: Cooked prasad was served to 1,150 devotees on the first day and 350 devotees on the second day.
  • Immersion Ceremony: The celebrations concluded on 27 March with a ceremonial procession, after which the clay image was immersed in the Ashrama pond. The ritual ended with the sprinkling of Shanti Bari among the gathered devotees.
