The Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi, concluded today its 5-day training programme on the establishment and maintenance of micro-irrigation systems. The training was organized with the support of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-4, from 4 to 8 August 2025 at the Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi. The training saw the participation of 27 progressive farmers from the Model Watershed Project – WDC-01/2021-22 of the WDC-PMKSY 2.0 scheme, Ranchi district.
The technical session and field-level demonstration (in-situ demonstration) on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of micro-irrigation systems were conducted by Er. Om Prakash Sharma from Ramakrishna Mission – Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
On this occasion, the training coordinator from the Ashrama, Swami Ishwarananda, senior scientist Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, state technical expert Er. Narayan Kumar Mishra, Shri Shiv Sankalp, Shri Deepak Kumar Paraman, Wasim Akram, Roshan Horo, and Shri Rajesh Sahai, along with all the trainees, were present.
During the programme, JSWM’s state technical expert Shri Narayan Kumar Mishra and state programme manager Shri Shiv Sankalp provided information to participants on increasing irrigation efficiency, technical processes, and the importance of community-based management.
This training was important not only from a technical point of view but also because it increased awareness among participants about local agricultural products and water management. Participants also recognized it as a useful step towards bringing positive changes to their own farming practices.
For this training programme, scientific staff from the Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra—Dr. R.K. Singh, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Dr. Vishwajit Singh, Dr. Neha Ranjan, and Shri Deepak Pahan—also provided their cooperation.
