To spread the life and message of Swami Vivekananda among the younger generation, a Youth Convention was organised at Maa Sarada Sabhangan, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandir (E.M.R.S.), Jhargram, on Thursday, 11 September 2025, celebrated as Universal Brotherhood Day to commemorate Swamiji’s speech at the Parliament of Religions, Chicago.
Around 400 participants (students and teachers) from 60 educational institutions in and around Jhargram town attended the convention.
Swami Achyutatmananda ji, senior monk from Belur Math, and Prof. Sushil Kumar Barman, Former Principal of Rani Indira Debi Girls’ College, Jhargram, graced the occasion and spoke on the life and message of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vedapurushananda, Secretary of Jhargram Ashrama, explained the significance of Swamiji’s Chicago lectures.
All the participants received a book on Swamiji and his photo, and were served prasad at the conclusion of the programme.
