Values Education Programme: Dakshineshwar, September 2025

Ramakrishna Math, Dakshineshwar

The Ramakrishna Math, Dakshineshwar, conducted a series of Values Education Programmes throughout September 2025, focusing on the character-building ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

School Engagement

Programmes at Ariadaha Girls’ High School (1 Sept) and Ariadaha Sarbamangala Girls’ High School (2 Sept) involved prize distributions for quizzes on Swami Vivekananda, along with motivational sessions by Monks. The focus was on practical ideas for student life and character building, involving students from Classes VI–XI. Books on value education were also distributed to students and headmistresses.

Chicago Address Day

A commemorative programme was held at Sri Sarada Vidyalaya, Dakshineswar (11 Sept), celebrating Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago Address. The event included:

  • Reflections on Swamiji’s life and the reading of the Chicago Address.
  • Motivational session and interactive discussion with a Swami.
  • Distribution of prizes and certificates to students who participated in a prior quiz on Sri Sarada Devi.

Youth Development

Two programmes were held for youth on September 14:

  1. Online Class: 46 youth participated in “Personality Development for Youth – 02,” focusing on Swamiji’s man-making and nation-building thought.
  2. Motivational Camp: A camp was held at Ramananda Centenary College, Purulia, where a Monk addressed 45 students and professors on moulding one’s life according to Swami Vivekananda’s ideals.

Summary: The programmes successfully leveraged quizzes, commemorative events, and motivational workshops (both physical and online) to instill values and promote the ideals of Swami Vivekananda among high school students and college youth.
