Ramakrishna Mission, Davanagere, organised a fifteen-day summer camp titled “Vasanta Vihara” for children between the ages of 10 and 15 years. The camp was conducted in two batches, spanning the period from 25 April to 10 May 2026. A total of 60 participants registered for the programme, and a nominal registration fee of Rs. 100/- was charged.
The curriculum of the camp was designed to nurture the physical, intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions of the young participants. Sessions were held on the following subjects and activities:
- Spiritual Practices: Prayer (Vedic chanting, Holy Trio Suprabhatam, and Bhagavad Gita recitation) and bhajans
- Physical Wellness: Yoga and games
- Life Skills and Values: Talks on personality development, moral stories, lifestyle, and healthy food habits
- General Knowledge: Basic knowledge on birds and environmental awareness
- Creative and Academic Development: The art of creative writing, increasing memory capacity, concentration and study methods, fun mathematics, and drawing competitions
- Civic Awareness: Traffic education
- Arts and Crafts
Prizes were distributed to participants who excelled in the various competitions held during the camp.
The response from participants and their parents was reported to be positive and encouraging. Many of the children shared that the experience had been enriching and instructive. Parents expressed appreciation for the holistic transformation observed in their children over the course of the two weeks.
