Yogasana Competition: Jhargram, August 2026

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram, West Bengal


With the aim of promoting physical fitness and the holistic development of children and youth through the disciplined practice of Yoga, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram organised a District-level Yogasana Competition across all eight blocks of Jhargram district for the fourth consecutive year. The competition was held from 14 July to 2 August 2026, encompassing block-level rounds followed by a District Final.

Participants were drawn into two age categories — 8–13 years and 13–17 years — with separate competitions for boys and girls in each category.

Block-level Rounds

A total of 306 students took part in the block-level competitions held across the eight blocks of the district. The breakdown by gender was as follows:

Every participant was presented with a Participation Certificate and a book on Swami Vivekananda in recognition of their effort and enthusiasm. The first three winners in each category at the block level were additionally honoured with medals.

District Finals

The top two winners in each of the four categories (boys and girls across both age groups) from each of the eight blocks qualified for the District Finals — 64 finalists in all. The District Finals were held on 2 August 2026 at the Ashrama Sabhangana, Jhargram.

In the final round, the top three performers in each of the four categories were recognised, yielding 12 prize winners in total. They were honoured with medals, certificates, and cash awards.
