A Youth Convention was organised at Ramakrishna Mission, Balurghat, on 23 September 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Hall, with the objective of forming a unit of the Youth Cell of the Mission. The convention was held in the presence of Swami Adividyananda, representative of the Headquarters.
The programme commenced with Vedic chanting by Brahmachari Chayan and five students of the Students’ Home. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Swami Adividyanandai, in the presence of Swami Satyadharmananda and Swami Divyatattwananda.
Swami Satyadharmananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Balurghat, delivered the Welcome Address. Thereafter, Swami Divyatattwananda gave a brief and inspiring talk. Swami Adividyananda then spoke on the need, significance and objectives of the Youth Cell. In his illuminating address, he encouraged the youth to participate actively in constructive and service-oriented activities and to carry forward the ideals and message of Swami Vivekananda.
A total of 29 youth members participated in the convention. During the programme, a committee was formed to coordinate and undertake various social, service-oriented and constructive activities through the Youth Cell.
The Vote of Thanks was offered by Sri Bikash Chandra Saha. The programme concluded with a devotional song rendered by Sri Asis Bose, accompanied on the tabla by Swami Satyadharmanandaji Maharaj. The programme was ably conducted by Dr Debasis Nandi. Tiffin was distributed among all the participants at the close of the programme.
The entire convention was conducted in a peaceful, disciplined and spiritually inspiring atmosphere. The enthusiasm and earnestness of the participating youth were particularly encouraging, and the sanctity of the occasion was well maintained throughout.
