Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Malda, successfully conducted a Flood Relief Programme on October 8, 2025, targeting distressed communities in the Bhutni island of Manikchak Block, Malda District.
The relief efforts focused on several localized areas within Dakshin Chandipur, including Chhabi Majhi Tola, Bhanusarkar Tola, Biru Tola, Sonatan Tola, Pulin Tola, and Piyari Tola. A total of 145 persons were served through this single-day operation, receiving comprehensive kits of food and essential household items.
Items Distributed
The distribution included both vital food supplies and essential household materials.
Beneficiaries received food items consisting of 40 kg of Chira (Flattened Rice), 20 kg of Soya Chunk, 110 kg of Mustard Oil, and 250 kg of Flour.
Additionally, household and hygiene materials distributed included 100 bed sheets, 130 blankets, 130 mosquito nets, 250 pieces of soap, and 25 pieces of Dettol.
The successful distribution helped provide critical support and supplies to the affected families in the Bhutni island area, ensuring they received immediate relief during the flood distress.
