In response to the nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and in accordance with the guidelines and circular received from Headquarters, Belur Math, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Asansol observed National Sports Day 2026 from 28 to 30 August 2026, under the theme “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat”. The three-day programme was organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, and to promote among the youth and the general public the ideals of physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle. School students of the Ashrama formed the primary participants, alongside monastics, volunteers, devotees, and admirers of the Ashrama.

28 August 2026 witnessed competitions in Kabaddi, Marathon, and Athletics, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and members of the Ashrama.
On 29 August 2026, Inter-School Football Matches were organised on the Ashrama premises, providing students an opportunity to demonstrate sportsmanship and team spirit.
The celebrations culminated on 30 August 2026 with a Cycle Rally, organised in collaboration with the District Sports Association, Paschim Bardhaman. The rally commenced from BNR Crossing and concluded at the Ashrama High School. A total of 100 students participated, drawn from the Ashrama’s School and ITI students, along with students from three other schools of the district.
The three-day celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from monastics, volunteers, students, devotees, and admirers of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Asansol.
