Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Contai, celebrated the 164th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day on 12 January 2026. The event was organized with great enthusiasm and grandeur within the Ashrama premises, focusing on the empowerment of the local youth.
Event Highlights
- Commemorative Procession: The day began at 8:30 a.m. with a vibrant and colorful procession. Participants marched from the Contai Town Hall to the Ashrama, carrying the message of Swamiji through the heart of the town.
- Youth Convention: Following the procession, a convention was held at the Abhedananda Sabhagriha. The gathering saw robust participation from over 400 students and teachers representing 16 local schools.
- Cultural & Educational Sessions: The convention featured a diverse array of activities centered on Swamiji’s life and ideals, including:
- Swadesh Mantra Path and devotional songs.
- Special discussions on Swamiji as the ideal for modern youth.
- Student performances in music, elocution, recitation, and drama.
