Seminars on Value Education at Mangaluru, September 2017

In commemoration of Swami Vivekananda’s historical address at the World Parliament of Religions at Chicago on 11 September 1893, Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru organizes 3 Days Value Education Seminars every year. This year too, the ashrama had organized 3 days programme from 7 to 9 September. The details of which are given below:

 

7 September : Prajna – Value Orientation Programme for College Lecturers

The full day seminar for College Faculty was organized on the theme, “Education: Discovering Oneself” from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Swami Shantatamanandaji, Head, Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi inaugurated the seminar. DR. N Vinay Hedge, Chancellor, Nitte University was the Chief Guest.  Inaugural session was followed by sessions by Swami Shantatmanandaji, Sri V Srinivas, CEO, Illumine Knowledge Resources, Mumbai & Prof. Raghothama Rao, Chairman, Manas center for Training, Bangalore. About 350 college faculty participated in the day-long seminar.

 

8 September : Shraddha – Seminar for Post Graduate Students

The full day seminar for Post Graduate Students was on the theme, “Awakening Inner Strength” from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. It was inaugurated by Sri Pramod Madhwaraj, Hon. Minister for Youth & Sports, Govt. of Karnataka. On that day scholarships were also distributed to deserving students. Sri J R Lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South was the Chief Guest.   This was followed by sessions by Swami Shantatmanandaji, Sri V Srinivas, CEO, Illumine Knowledge Resources, Mumbai & Prof. Raghothama Rao, Chairman, Manas center for Training, Bangalore. About 500 Post Graduate students actively participated in the day-long programme.

 

9 September : Medha – Seminar for Aspiring Teachers

Theme of the seminar was, “Teaching: Mother of Professions”. The full day seminar was inaugurated by Swami Atmajnanandaji, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Mysore.  Inaugural session was followed by sessions by Sri Kajampady Subrahmanya Bhat, Sri Suresh Kulkarni, Educationist, Dharawad & Smt. Chintana Rajesh, Speaker, Kundapur. About 450 aspiring teachers participated in the day-long programme.

On all the three days, delegates were given tea, tiffin, lunch, evening tea & snacks. They were also given participation certificates and complimentary booklets.
